How to Measure Perfect Arches
Arches rest on top of the blind head rail, so let's look at the three types of mounts:
1. Extended Arch Window-Perfect
Note: In extended arch windows make arch height fit into the arch height min/max so a perfect arch will fit. Do this by moving the blind up or down. Once again the total height of arch window opening should equal the blind length and the arch height.
2. Stand Alone Arch Window with Sill
Arch rests directly on sill and a standard valance covers mounting holes.
Note: We cannot use a 3 1/2" decorative valance because the bottom of the arch frame is only 2 3/4". Therefore a standard 2 1/2" valance is required.
3. Stand Alone Arch Window with No Sill
Arch rests directly on bottom of arch sheet rock ledge so a valance is required to cover any light gaps.
GENERAL COMMENTS
Perfect arch definition: A perfect arch does not exist but, if it did, it would be
HEIGHT = half the WIDTH.
OLD THINKING: We have been trained by customer service when we order a honeycomb arch that it must be perfect... example 34 1/2" by 17 1/4". If we ordered the same width and wanted 17 3/8", you could NOT order it and were told to make a template.
NEW THINKING: First SEE PRICE CHART and NO TEMPLATES. Perfect arches come in 3" increments and will fit irregular windows with a 1 7/8" front face overlap. See chart to determine if your window arch opening fits the width and the height. If it does then you can be assured that it will fit your window. If it is out of the size, we can build it anyway and it is priced as an eyebrow / custom arch.
A template is needed for ellipse windows and eyebrows where there is no distinct radius corners.
When ordering always specify type of mount because it determines what type of valance is needed
